Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, has expanded its network footprint by adding Hong Kong and Johannesburg to its codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, bringing to 24 the total number of destinations covered by the deal.

As part of the agreement, Air Serbia will place its “JU” flight code on daily services operated by Etihad Airways between the two cities and Abu Dhabi, where travellers have convenient connections with Air Serbia to and from Belgrade.

Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: “We are pleased to expand our Etihad Airways codeshare agreement to two important cities in Africa and Asia, offering our guests convenient, one-stop access via Abu Dhabi. “Increasing the breadth and depth of our network to provide travellers with more choice and convenience is a key part of our strategy to consolidating our position as the region’s leading airline. “In addition to strengthening feed onto our network, this development will build on our bilateral trade and tourism ties, driving important growth in the Serbian economy.”

Air Serbia and Etihad Airways together offer double-daily flights between Belgrade and Abu Dhabi, ensuring codeshare guests benefit from short connecting times when transiting through the UAE capital.
